Appointments

How do I make an appointment?

To schedule an appointment, please call us at (202) 463-7611.

What do I need to bring to my physical therapy appointment?

  • Your health insurance card(s)
  • A prescription from your referring physician (if you have one)
  • Comfortable clothing (we can provide shorts, t-shirts, and gowns)
  • Completed new patient paperwork (if accessed online)
  • MRI results, x-rays, or other reports that would help your physical therapist learn more about your condition

What happens during my therapy appointment?

At your initial appointment, your therapist will evaluate you and work with you to establish a program of care that will enable you to quickly begin your recovery and meet agreed-on goals. You will learn about the cause of any pain, discomfort, or functional limitations and your treatment options. During your initial evaluation (and any follow-up appointments), you will always have the opportunity to ask any questions concerning your treatment and progress. Learn more about what to expect during your appointment.

How long will my therapy appointment last?

Your initial visit will last 60 minutes. Subsequent visits are typically 30 minutes long. During each appointment, you will be seen one-on-one by an experienced physical therapist in a private treatment room.

How often will I need to come to therapy?

Your therapist will be able to tell you after your first appointment. At that time, the therapist will be better able to evaluate your needs and set up an appropriate schedule to ensure a safe and effective recovery. (If there are specific days and times you prefer to receive your treatment, we recommend that you schedule your appointments as far in advance as possible so that you can get the appointment times you desire.)

How many appointments will I need?

At your initial appointment, your therapist and you will develop a plan of care. This plan of care will give you an indication of the number of visits that you will need in order to meet your goals. At every follow-up appointment, your progress and treatment will be reassessed and treatment plan revised accordingly.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?

Please remember that an appointment means that we have reserved that time especially for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please give us at least 24 hours' notice so that another patient may be treated at that time.
